In July 2017 an appointment at Auckland Hospital for what was expected to be pinched nerves rapidly turned into a diagnosis of highly aggressive Acute Lymphatic Leukaemia. When you hear those words, time seems to stands still, your life goes on hold and you have a single focus of beating this illness. But time doesn’t stand still – life goes on as do the everyday stresses and anything that can be done to alleviate those for your family and yourself is desperately needed. I called Michael the day I was diagnosed and from there Michael was by my side, not only as my ‘insurance broker’, but a friend. Caring for our kids
As a Dad, I’m absolutely passionate about Cure Kids. The work they do is phenomenal. Its vision is a healthy childhood for everyone. To make this happen they focus on raising funds for medical research to find cures for kids.
They fund research into childhood cancers, inherited heart conditions, cystic fibrosis, sudden unexpected death in infants (SUDI), stillbirth, burns, and child and adolescent mental health – to name a few.
Cure Kids are the largest funder of child health research outside the government. They support the best science possible to make a difference to the health and well-being of children in New Zealand.

Caring for our pets
As an advocate of both charity and community, I am a big supporter of Paw Justice and animal welfare through community support.
Paw Justice was formed in 2009 to help deal with the problem of animal abuse and neglect against pets in New Zealand. Such abuse has grown at alarming rates, both in frequency and severity
Paw Justice work with the Community to raise awareness about animal abuse. They act as advocates in the community for those animals and promote education and public awareness to bring about social change.
Paw Justice is supporting the many animals that need our help and I am proud to give Paw Justice my support.
